Founding Funders
Overview
Our Founding Funder program provides an opportunity to invest in the Fig Tree Foundation, to support our mission and encourage organizations and efforts that best align with our values. As a Founding Funder an individual’s influence is two-fold. First, by contributing to our endowment fund; a self-sustaining fund used to fund programs, projects and groups that align with our values. Second, by their role as leaders within their community and among their peers.
Responsibilities
The significance of being a Founding Funder is encapsulated in the rights and responsibilities the title confers. To begin with, all Board Members must be a Founding Funder. This promotes a sense of ownership and continuity of involvement that might otherwise be lacking in other equally qualified prospective candidates. Secondly, it confers the right to attend our Founding Funder events. These events provide an opportunity to stay informed, meet with your peers and invite (as your guest) others of a similar persuasion to learn more of our message and our organization.
In terms of responsibilities, as a Founding Funder you remain responsible to stay informed, be engaged and, when necessary, hold us accountable. In all these regards we will facilitate your efforts with quarterly updates, annual events and a dedicated Founding Funder Liaison who will be committed to ensuring you that you are both informed and that you are heard.
If you are you considering this path for yourself, you should perform the diligence necessary for you to attain a level of comfort with Fig Tree, where you are going and what we are seeking to achieve. If you are contemplating such a contribution, we encourage you to meet with some of our volunteers, our Roundtable members and others that have already made such contributions and can provide a better understanding of what we are about.
