And the winner is...

CONGRATULATIONS to Nancy Dalton of Calgary whose winning ticket (#0334) was drawn from a total of 2,000 tickets sold for the Pie In The Sky Travel Raffle on December 23rd, 2010. Nancy will receive 2 Return flights anywhere WestJet flies, a 12 month supply of Simple Simon Pies and a $250 gift voucher for merchandise at Pipestone Travel Stores.

Thanks to all who participated and volunteered to make this raffle a huge success! Close to $10,000 was raised ($9,950.91 to be exact), which will all go directly into the Fig Tree Endowment fund to support effective and sustainable initiatives in developing countries where our Roundtable Participants work. A big thanks as well to CSM Media for contributing all of the printing for our raffle. This really helped us keep our costs as low as they were!

WELCOME!

If you are here to learn more about the Fig Tree Foundation’s PIE IN THE SKY TRAVEL RAFFLE, you have come to the right place.

Thanks to the efforts of one of our great volunteers, we recently secured a voucher for free return flights for two from WestJet, It was rewarded as part of Westjet’s program to encourage volunteerism by staff members. (Bravo Christina!)

Though Fig Tree is not accustomed to holding raffles to raise Endowment funds, we decided to make the best of this opportunity.

We partnered with a few of our corporate stewards – Simple Simon Pies, Pipestone Travel and CSM Media – and THE PIE IN THE SKY TRAVEL RAFFLE was born!

With the help of a great team of volunteers, we expect to raise $10,000 by selling all of our raffle tickets. Every dime will go to the Fig Tree Foundation’s Endowment fund and then be used to fund highly effective and sustainable international development projects. We are also hoping to raise public awareness about Fig Tree within the Calgary Community. Please explore the rest of our website, especially the section “About Us”.

Thank you for your interest and support. We have printed just 2,000 raffle tickets, so your chances are pretty good! Draw time is 3pm on December 23 at Simple Simon’s Pies in the Calgary Farmers’ Market.

Good luck!

Raffle Chairperson
