The Fig Tree Charitable Foundation is a Calgary-based group dedicated to assisting communities throughout the world by fostering collaboration between and raising funds for registered international development organizations.
Join us in a special University of Calgary student presentation of the film What are we doing here?, a thought-provoking and entertaining documentary highlighting some of the challenges of implementing development projects in Africa. Daring to ask the questions no one else will, the filmmakers and the Fig Tree Foundation invite Calgarians to rethink the fight against poverty in Africa and to participate in developing innovative and sustainable solutions.
Following the film, meet and engage with Tim Klein, one of the filmmakers, along with other prominent Calgarians engaged in international development and U of C faculty in a panel discussion that will dare you to rethink your understanding of what 'development' means and looks like.
